Series 021 | Hydraulic multi-plate clutch | High torque | Marine optimized
Ortlinghaus friction linings, trusted for years in the marine industry, enable clutches in this series to balance high torque and thermal absorption with a favorable outer diameter. They also accommodate high shaft diameters.
With a wide power range, smaller sizes can be achieved, offering weight and cost advantages, particularly in higher torque ranges. The optimized outer diameter allows for shorter axle distances, providing significant savings in the gearbox. The hydraulic multi-plate clutch is known for its excellent serviceability. The wear-free plate pack, accessible from either side depending on the model, allows for easy, safe, and quick replacement. The unique design prevents other components from falling out during replacement.
Ortlinghaus multi-plate clutches safely accelerate even large propellers and generators. This advanced development of our proven technology sets current industry standards.

Series 022 | Hydraulic multi-plate brake
The 022 series is a highly successful product line from Ortlinghaus, with over one million units in operation globally. These brakes are essential in environments where safety, long service life, and uncompromised quality are paramount. In the field of construction equipment engineering, the 022 series is utilized in both travel-/drive and slew-drive brake applications, demonstrating their versatility and reliability.
These brakes are known for their wet-running, hydraulically released, and spring-applied multi-plate design, which allows them to achieve high torques in compact dimensions. A special version of these brakes is available with hydraulic actuation. As safety brakes, they are spring-loaded to automatically function in the event of pressure failure, ensuring that full torque can be achieved even without hydraulic pressure.
| Torque: 50 – 10,000 Nm | |
| Rotations Per Minute: 45 – 6,570 min-1 | |
| Outside Diameter: 83 – 910 mm | |
| Bore Diameter: 18 – 350 mm | |
| Length: 59 – 360 mm |

Series 128 | Hydraulic safety brake
Hydraulically actuated clutches and brakes use “wet-running” oil-cooled plates with steel/sintered lining friction. They offer high performance with compact design due to 80 bar pressure oil, multi-plate construction, and oil-cooled friction pairing.
Benefits include high torques, low inertia, fast switch times, and minimal maintenance. The separate design allows for various clutch and brake sizes with different shaft ends. Running in a sealed housing prevents environmental dirt release. Designed with international safety regulations in mind, they are recognized as safe by the German Employers’ Liability Insurance Association and type-tested by the Swedish Industrial Safety Authority.

Series 600/700 | Slipping clutch
Ortlinghaus slipping clutches are designed to safely absorb and smooth external peak loads, offering protection against peak torque and unexpected stoppages. The release torque can be adjusted, allowing torque to be transferred during slipping to prevent uncontrolled transmission, and a reset is unnecessary.
These safety clutches have demonstrated their reliability over decades in the most challenging mining environments and are continually being further developed.
| Torque: 20 – 50,000 Nm | |

Series 086/088 | Rotary union
Ortlinghaus has been manufacturing single and multi-channel rotary inlets for decades, often supplied as accessories for air and oil actuated and oil-cooled clutches. These standard components feed air, pressurized oil, and cooling oil into rotating shafts and are not limited to clutch use. Ortlinghaus also custom develops rotary inlets to meet specific customer requirements, such as those with up to eight channels carrying different media like air/oil or air/water.
